Branson-area residents will have an opportunity to dispose of unwanted electronics during a free community e-waste recycling event Saturday, Sept. 26.
Tech Remove LLC is partnering with the City of Branson for the event, which will run from 8 a.m. to noon at the City Hall employee parking lot, 345 E. 2nd St.
The collection follows Branson’s annual Fall Cleanup, scheduled for Sept. 21–25. Electronics are not accepted as part of the city’s curbside cleanup program, and residents are instead encouraged to save those items for Saturday’s recycling event.
Most qualifying electronics can be recycled at no charge. Accepted items include computers and laptops, monitors, printers, televisions, networking equipment, servers and computer components, home audio equipment, video game systems, cameras, power tools, cables and chargers, ink and toner cartridges, projectors and certain small appliances.
Tech Remove said data-bearing devices collected during the event will be handled using secure recycling procedures intended to protect users’ information while recovering reusable materials.
Fees will apply to several types of displays:
CRT monitors — $5 each LCD, LED and plasma televisions — $20 each CRT televisions — $30 each Projection televisions — $30 each
Large appliances, exercise equipment, household trash, hazardous materials and other non-electronic waste will not be accepted.
The event is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 26, at Branson City Hall, 345 E. 2nd St. Tech Remove is providing the collection, transportation and recycling service at no cost to the City of Branson.
